"Ayah, apa yang ayah tahu pasal Design Aesthetics? Apa tu aesthetics?"
"Dad, what do you know about Design Asthetics? What is aesthetics?

My father's answer :
"Nampak cantik",
"Look beautiful",

wow, what a simple answer!?
Based on what he said, it's all about "look beautiful first" then balancing with functional.
No matter what, the beauty is number one. But it depends on majority opinion, not by individual.

Aesthetics ? What it's mean?

By yesterday, i have learnt about the definition of design and aesthetics. What is the relationship between them? I still can't explain it fluently and need to refer something to read.

Based on Dr Tan's note that he show to class yesterday,
design is a PLAN or DRAWING that produced to show the look and function or workings of a building, garment or other object BEFORE it is made.
*Actually there are 3 mores definition about design, but I think only this sentences that I can understand and explain.

As a designer, we need to plan. What is plan? we need to start thinking what kind of new products or anythings that we gonna do. Drawing is the action that to show what we had imagined on a piece of paper or somethings.
We need to know our needed. So,this is based on the look and function. For example that Dr.Tan gave to class, just like his bottle. How to make it more easier to carry, to hold and so on.

Oh, i just remember that Dr.Tan talked about 'Change your sun glasses' , what it's mean?
Your paradigm , the way that you think, you see, you judge and so on.

You know what, he had asked the class yesterday, after shown to us a image of Dimension of design,
the question is what is aesthetics? Oh my God, i was afraid that he will choose me, because i don't know the answer. But actually, if you are thinking in simple way and take it easy, then you can give the answer.
He said that, aesthetics is one of dimensions of design. Simple.

Okay now, what is the dimensions of design?
There are 4 dimensions which are Aesthetics, Functional, Economical and Socio-political.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmm.. can we continue this article later? I promise.

By the way, Dr Tan gave about 3 questions after this topic.
There are

1) Up to this moment, what do you think aesthetics is?
Aesthetics have no principle because it can be anythings that created by artist. Many kind of reactions that will be follow by the creations.

2) How would you define aesthetics?
Aesthetics is abstract to understand for me. It is mystery of reactions. It is about beauty, philosophy and theory of arts.

3) How do you feel about aesthetics?
I really need to know more to understand what is actually aesthetics means in the simple sentences.

Write down your relexion.
